Rockhouse Foundation

Transforms the places Jamaican children learn & supports the great people who teach them.

Since 2004 the Foundation has invested over USD$12 million (approx. JMD$2 billion) in Western Jamaica: six Negril area public schools, the Negril Community Library, and Sav Inclusive, the first school in Jamaica where children with and without disabilities learn side by side.

Make a donation

100% of your donation funds the projects.

All administrative and marketing costs of the Foundation are underwritten by Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Negril Beach Resort, Miss Lily’s and their owners. All donations go directly to the projects and programs.

Our work

One school at a time.

From renovating public primary schools and local libraries, to supporting early childhood education, to building the best all inclusive in Jamaica: the Sav Inclusive School, where children with and without disabilities learn side by side in a state of the art, fully inclusive setting.

Build the next classroom.

Sav Inclusive adds a grade every year, so the children who started at three have somewhere to go at eighteen. That is what a donation buys here: the next room, and the year after that.

100% of your donation reaches the projects. Our overheads are underwritten by Rockhouse, Skylark and Miss Lily’s.

Impact

One childhood at a time.

Over USD$12 million invested into local education, in numbers that can be measured and numbers that cannot. Our schools provide more than learning. They are safe, caring, inclusive, beautiful environments, full of friends, play and life.

$12,024,867

Invested in Jamaican public education since 2004.

Over twenty years of it, in one corner of one parish.

Numbers that can be measured

6 + 1

Schools and a library fully renovated.

Six Negril area public schools, plus the Negril Community Library.

275

Children at the Sav Inclusive School today.

Aged three through grade seven, with a waiting list longer than the current enrolment.

520

Children Sav Inclusive is being built for.

Pre-K through high school, once the expanded campus is complete.

infinite

Number of friends made.

Thousands of lives of our students and their families have been impacted by our work in the community.

And what those numbers pay for

Free breakfast and lunch

Served every school day, at every school the Foundation supports. A child who has eaten is a child who can learn.

Subsidized staff support

Paid term after term, so class sizes stay small enough that every child is known by name.

Water, light and internet subsidies

Utility costs met as needed, so a school day is never lost to an unpaid bill.

eSpark devices and connectivity

A computer based literacy and numeracy program, with stable satellite internet and devices for the children using it.

Rockhouse Foundation projects

Six schools, one library, one corner of Jamaica.

Everything the Foundation has built sits within a short drive of Negril, in Westmoreland, Jamaica’s westernmost parish. Over twenty years of work, compounding in one place.

Rockhouse Hotel

A responsible hotel, steeped in the community of Western Jamaica.

“The major part of being in Jamaica is the connection to the country and the people.”

Paul Salmon

Founder & Chairman of Rockhouse Hotel

One third of the hotel’s profits underwrite the Foundation’s administrative and fundraising costs, so 100% of your donation funds the projects.

Guests who stay on the cliffs can take the bus out to Savanna-la-Mar and walk the campus their room paid for.

Raise funds with us
